- Abstract
- High water quality and availability in the Alps is important not only for the region itself, but for large parts of Europe. Climate change and increasing water consumption by various sectors constantly pose new challenges. The maintenance of functioning water systems and the expansion of hydropower use, taking into account environmental concerns, are two of the main objectives of the Alpine Convention in this field.
